An Mga Voyador
September 4 – September 6, 2026
Garden Glasshouse, Naga City
About the Event
A story of faith, brotherhood, and redemption unfolding on the eve of Naga City’s beloved Peñafrancia fluvial procession.
An Mga Voyador is a featured work of VLF Bikol 2026: Atado, written by Gene Rey Francisco and directed by Jobert Grey Landeza.
The play follows Artur and Pelipe on the night before Naga City’s highly anticipated fluvial procession, as they gather at Pay Wantik’s warehouse to prepare for their annual voya.
As voyadores, they take part in a long-standing tradition of male devotees entrusted with carrying, guiding, and protecting the holy images of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and the Divino Rostro during the city’s religious processions.
But this year, their group is still short of the ten required members.
With sunrise approaching, they are forced to consider two unfamiliar recruits, men carrying past sins that could put the group’s reputation at risk. What begins as a need to fill two vacant places becomes a question of trust, faith, belonging, and whether a person’s past should determine their place in the present.
